About the position
Exciting opportunity to join our Client in the e-commerce health and wellness industry for a Chief Operating Officer, fully remote role.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO), who will be acting as the strategic link between the CEO & Founder and the operational departments owning the communication and ensuring that they are aligned to the business objectives and that they are performing optimally. You will be responsible for driving the operational excellence across the multiple key functions such as Supply Chain, Platform Management, Business Expansion, Product Development and Customer Experience.
This is a critical leadership role for someone with deep e-commerce and amazon expertise as well as strategic/ critical thinking skills, and hands-on operational experience.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight
- Review daily activities across departments to identify inefficiencies with workflow processes and suggest improvements.
- Reviewing the departmental structures to identify and mitigate duplicated labor efforts.
- Establish and refine company policies that promote efficiency, ensure compliance, and optimize performance.
- Follow and continuously improve SOPs to streamline all operational functions for speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure that all operational objectives are met, including inventory accuracy, FBA efficiency, G2 efficiency, cost-to-serve benchmarks, platform and compliance management and new product launch strategies on Amazon US as well as Amazon international and other E-Commerce platforms like Walmart and I-Herb.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure seamless coordination and operational alignment across the company.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Meirs and department leaders, taking over regular communication, oversight, and direction.
- Maintain open, clear, and consistent communication with all teams via daily emails and ensure there are prompt responses to challenges or escalate where necessary.
- Provide direct support and guidance to department leaders when issues arise, acting as a problem solver and decision-maker.
- Performance Management
- Set clear operational KPIs and intervene when performance lags behind targets, including direct engagement with 3PLs, and internal teams (The department heads)
- Ensure fulfilment partners like Amazon and 3PLs adhere to service standards and troubleshoot delays, and hold partners accountable to SLAs.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring the right resources are aligned with the right responsibilities.
- Continuously analyse the platform performance metrics (Amazon Seller Central Health + Other Marketplace SLAs) to identify risks, and ensure that the right department is addressing this.
- Promote extreme ownership across all teams, setting high standards of accountability and results.
- Reporting
- Ensure EOM reports are supplied by the various departments
- Review EOM reports and identify any risks or opportunities in the business
- Supply the CEO & Founder with EOW and EOM reports on performance, priority task execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or a related field.
- MBA is preferable
- Proven experience (7+ years) in operational leadership roles within e-commerce (Specifically Amazon).
- Project Management experience is beneficial.
- Proficient in G suite.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Proficiency in English with excellent writing, communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams.
