Our client in Sandton is looking for an experienced Conveyancing Secretary to join their team.
The ideal candidate will handle full conveyancing processes from instruction to registration with minimal supervision.
- Minimum 5 years of solid conveyancing experience
- Experience with bonds and transfers
- Worked with ABSA, Standard Bank, Investec, and FNB
- Able to manage files independently and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and client service skills
- Experience dealing with Netdocs and L4

Minimum Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- Secretarial Diploma with excellent typing skills.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in attending to bonds and transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inception: Acknowledge instruction, perusal and understanding of loan conditions, performing searches and interpreting deeds office records, initial contact with client and the linked attorney and opening of the file.
- Preparation of loan documents for signature by client.
- Attending to transfers, various land development applications and preparation of various notarial deeds and servitudes.
- Preparing various other conveyancing documents such as related applications, powers of attorney, waivers of preference, resolutions, conveyancer’s certificates etc.
- Weekly reporting to clients, bankers and agents and liaising with city councils, managing agents and linked attorney firms.
- Preparing lodgement documents and attending to the necessary lodgement arrangements.
- Ensuring all transaction conditions are met in order for matters to be registered successfully at the relevant deeds registry within satisfactory turn-around-time.
- Attending to all financial aspects of transactions, including final accounts, collecting costs/disbursements from clients and attending to general accounting queries.
- Thorough understanding of conveyancing processes in general, i.e. transfers, bonds, cancellations etc.
- Understanding of various loan conditions, title conditions and being able to interpret deeds office records and surveyor general diagrams.
- Experience in commercial bond registrations will be an added advantage.
- The ability to attend to instructions independently from inception up until registration at the relevant deeds office and to effectively manage high volumes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and client interaction.
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
- Typing speed of 45+ words per minute.
- Meticulousness and attention to detail.
- Fully conversant in Microsoft Office, LexisConvey, Webconvey, Stordoc and L@W/E4.
