About the position
Conveyancing and Notary practice requires an experienced conveyancing bookkeeper.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of running a conveyancing practice bookkeeping department
- Posting all bank statements (*trust and business)
- Reconciling all bank statements
- Preparing age analysis
- Identifying COJ refunds and ensuring release same week
- Identifying deposits that require investment in terms of Section 68(4) of the LPA
- Loading payments on all bank accounts
- Managing and posting Investments in terms of Section 86(4) of the LPA
- Understanding FICA requirements around Section 86(4) Investments
- Issuing guarantees in terms of Section 86(4) with all major banks
- Calling up 86(4) investments, posting guarantees and interest earned and legal practice fees earned iro 86(4) Investments
- Proficient in the use of Ghost Practice (processing payments, receipts, 86(4) investments, reconciling etc)
- Drawing Management Accounts and statement for auditors from time to time
- Running month end and year end
- Proficient in running a payroll
- Proficient in paying PAYE
- Proficient in paying VAT
