About the position
Our client, a reputable industrial and construction equipment supplier based in Chloorkop, is currently seeking to appoint a Controller (Inventory/ Parts) to join their growing company.
In this role, you will be responsible for the distribution of parts to both internal and external customers timeously and accurately. Pats consignments received must be checked and binned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a forklift parts controller or similar function within the industrial, earthmoving or heavy construction industry
- Must have a valid driver's licence.
- MS Office proficiency (MS Excel and MS Word)
- Experience with Autoline - advantageous
- Valid forklift licence - advantageous
- Ability to perform tasks under pressure and within a deadline-driven environment.
- Accuracy with the ability to handle detail-oriented work to ensure proper items and quantities are picked to arrive at customers in good condition.
- General fluency in English required, verbal and written
- Agility to stand and walk for extended periods of time as primary job responsibility.
- Capacity to lift and carry heavy items intermittently during a typical work shift.
- Observance of established safety guidelines in conducting physical work activity duties.
- Must be technically-minded

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Check that the new stock that arrived in the Parts Store is complete as per the purchase order and free from any damages.
- Receipt stock in Autoline against open purchase order - both from local and foreign suppliers.
- Verify that parts numbers are valid, and bin in the correct location in the Parts Store.
- Daily picking of parts as per job card.
- Verify that the picked parts are for the correct job, and for the correct unit prior to handover to technicians.
- Generate picking slips and pick parts according to WIP, in case of Parts Counter Sales.
- Preparation of Parts Stock orders to be delivered to various Cross Border Customer - including packing and wrapping of the pallet.
- Warehouse inventory counts to be performed- including perpetual and annual.
- Continuously maintain the parts inventory by ensuring all bins are properly marked and neatly packed
- Any parts returned to be binned immediately, after all procedures have been followed.
- Daily housekeeping of parts store, ensuring that the store is clean and tidy.
- Constantly monitor stock level and inform Parts Manager of items to be re-ordered
- Will be required to deliver parts to customers, as and when the need arises.
- Other ad-hoc duties, e.g. filing of picking slips and purchase orders.
- Assists with ISO/Health and safety.
- Grow the parts business / target new customers
