About the position
Our client, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor specialising in oil, gas and natural gas projects, is currently seeking to hire a Contracts Manager to join their growing team in Maputo, Mozambique. This will be a 12 month contract (renewable).
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant qualification
- Minimum 10 years' in a contracts management function within large scale EPC/ mega projects experience
- NEC 3/ FIDIC contracts management experience
- Must pass a site medical
- Must be willing to travel to Mozambique (75 days on, 15 days off rotation)
- Must have a valid passport
- Immediately available for employment - preferred
- Expat experience will be advantageous
Main duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the main EPC contract and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, terms and conditions.
- Administer subcontractor and supplier contracts, including monitoring performance, deliverables and contractual compliance.
- Manage variations and change orders, assessing scope changes, costs, schedule impacts and entitlement.
- Prepare and manage contractual claims, including extensions of time, additional costs and disruption claims.
- Monitor project commercial performance, including contract value, commitments, payments and cost exposure.
- Manage contractual correspondence and notices, ensuring deadlines and notification requirements are met.
- Manage disputes and contractual risk, working with legal and project teams to resolve issues and protect the company's position.
- Track project milestones and contractual deliverables, ensuring payment milestones, completion requirements and obligations are achieved.
- Provide contractual/commercial advice to the leadership team, identifying risks, opportunities and potential financial exposure.
