About the position
Our client, a global engineering company with focus on solar projects and delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, is currently seeking to hire a Contracts and Variations Engineer to join their growing team in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This will be a project-based contract until November 2027.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant Qualification
- Strong experience in contracts management on large renewable energy / power generation / construction / Infrastructure projects
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Must be willing to relocate to Postmasburg, Northern Cape if outside the area
- Must be able to pass a site medical
Main duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Manage EPC/subcontract agreements and ensure contractors perform according to their contractual scope.
- Review contractor claims and variation requests when the scope, quantities, specifications or methodology changes.
- Assess variations to determine whether the additional work is genuinely outside the original contract scope.
- Price variations by reviewing labour, materials, equipment, quantities, subcontractor quotations and applicable contract rates.
- Assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims where a variation or other event affects the completion date
- Manage contract close-out, including final accounts, outstanding variations, claims and settlement.
