Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join their South African affiliate and support the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in delivering accurate financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. This role will play a key part in financial modelling, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to provide meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial planning and forecasting models.
- Support the preparation of the Strategic Business Plan (SBP), Annual Financial Plan, and rolling forecasts.
- Perform monthly variance analysis and assist in compiling management reporting packs.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify key risks and opportunities within the business.
- Coordinate with business units to gather, review, and validate financial inputs.
- Submit financial data into Essbase and other financial planning systems.
- Prepare valuation models and assist with business case development.
- Collaborate with teams across HR, Supply Chain, Tax, and Treasury to ensure alignment in planning inputs.
- Support the implementation and improvement of financial planning best practices.
- Assist with the preparation of presentation materials for internal and regional reviews.
- Support the FP&A Manager with monthly and quarterly financial close procedures, ensuring adherence to control cut-off procedures and deadlines.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, projects, and financial analysis as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in financial planning, financial analysis, or a related finance role.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and multi-currency reporting.
- Experience with financial planning tools such as SAP, Essbase, or Hyperion will be advantageous.
- CIMA completed or currently in progress would be beneficial.
