About the position

Purpose of the Role

The Content Writer will be responsible for crafting engaging written content that reflects the brand identity, enhances customer experience, and supports marketing, digital, and product objectives. This role involves producing a variety of content types, from product descriptions and social media captions to blog posts, email campaigns, press releases, and campaign messaging.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Write clear, compelling, and on-brand content for multiple platforms including:
  • Website and e-commerce product descriptions
  • Email marketing campaigns and newsletters
  • Social media captions and ad copy
  • Blog articles and brand stories
  • In-store signage and packaging copy
  • Press releases and internal communications
Brand Voice & Messaging

  • Ensure all written content is aligned with visual identity, and brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, product, and e-commerce teams to support product launches, campaigns, and storytelling
Content Planning & Execution

  • Assist in developing content calendars and campaign themes
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and campaign ideation
  • Ensure deadlines are met across all content-related deliverables
Editing & Proofreading

  • Edit and proofread marketing materials, ensuring accuracy, grammar, and brand consistency
  • Review content created by other departments to maintain tone and messaging quality
SEO & Digital Best Practices

  • Apply basic SEO principles to digital content to improve visibility and engagement
  • Stay updated on digital content trends and consumer engagement strategies
Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or related field
  • 2 – 5 years of content writing experience, preferably within retail, lifestyle, or design-focused industries
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating diverse content creation skills (digital and print)
  • Understanding of e-commerce, SEO, and social media best practices
  • Ability to adapt writing style for different channels and audiences
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
  • Passion for storytelling, design, and creative branding
Bonus Skills (Advantageous but not required)

  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Shopify, WordPress)
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo)
