About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in commercial office and retail fit-outs. This role is suited to a hands-on project professional who can manage projects from initial brief and design coordination through to completion, while maintaining control of programme, cost, quality and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage turnkey commercial office and retail fit-out projects from inception to handover.
- Coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and project teams.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting.
- Oversee tender processes, procurement, contractor appointments and contract administration.
- Monitor project programmes, site progress, quality and construction standards.
- Identify and resolve site issues and project bottlenecks efficiently.
- Manage variations, claims, final accounts and project close-out.
- Provide leadership and coordination to junior project managers and site teams.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure project expectations are met.
- Manage projects across multiple locations where required.
Requirements:
- Degree or relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related built-environment discipline.
- Approximately 5-8 years' experience in construction project management.
- Proven commercial office and/or retail fit-out experience.
- Strong understanding of construction, budgeting, tendering and project controls.
- Experience managing projects from design brief through to final account.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Willingness to travel nationally when required.
