About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of construction projects across the Western Cape. This opportunity is ideal for a driven construction professional with extensive project management experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from commencement through to successful completion
- Develop, monitor, and update project programmes and construction schedules
- Control project budgets, procurement, and cost performance
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and the professional team
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, extension of time notifications, and claims
- Oversee quality assurance processes and material testing
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Mentor and develop site personnel while fostering a high-performance culture
Requirements:
- Registered as a [URL Removed] with SACPCMP
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field
- Qualification in Health, Safety and Environment Management will be advantageous
- 8-10 years' relevant construction experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role
- Proven experience on multi-storey residential projects
- Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
