Construction Manager

About the position

Are you a seasoned client-side Construction Manager who thrives on controlling outcomes rather than executing works? This is an opportunity to represent the client's interests on major construction projects, providing leadership, governance, and oversight throughout the construction phase.

The Role
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will act as the client's on-site representative, managing and monitoring the main contractor and subcontractors to ensure delivery on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. You will drive performance, manage risk, and coordinate interfaces - without taking on contractor execution responsibilities.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Client-side oversight of contractors, programme, cost, quality, and HSE compliance
• Monitoring progress, managing risks, and resolving construction-phase issues
• Supporting contract administration (JBCC / FIDIC / NEC) and change control
• Coordinating stakeholders, consultants, and authorities
• Overseeing testing, commissioning, and handover through to final completion

What Our Client Is Looking For

• 7-10 years' experience in construction management (client-side / employer's agent preferred)
• Proven ability to manage main contractors on medium to large-scale projects
• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
• Professional registration (PrCM, PMP, etc.) advantageous
• Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and client-facing communication skills
