Construction Manager
An international frontrunner in infrastructure development is set to initiate a revolutionary and mammoth water project in Limpopo. Our client is undertaking a major bulk water infrastructure project involving the construction of =800 mm ND steel pipelines and reinforced concrete dam/abstraction works.
This role is essential to manage on-site execution and ensure full compliance with FIDIC contract conditions.
Based on the scale and complexity of the project, we are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to drive the project through its construction phases.
What You'll Do:
- Plan, execute, and oversee all construction activities, reporting progress and challenges to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage daily site operations, ensuring full compliance with contract specifications and construction schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor workmanship, material quality, and adherence to project plans.
- Liaise closely with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders to facilitate timely communication and resolution of issues.
- Implement and adjust construction schedules to ensure milestone adherence, including resource allocation and rescheduling where necessary.
- Lead on-site dispute resolution among workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain a productive work environment.
- Support all project-related implementation activities as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards throughout the construction process.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 15 years of construction experience in bulk water infrastructure, specifically in projects involving =800 mm ND steel pipelines (=20 km in length) and/or reinforced concrete dam or abstraction works.
Proven experience managing construction under FIDIC contract conditions (minimum 5 years preferred).
Relevant tertiary qualification: Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Engineering (NQF Level 6 or above).
- Foreign qualifications must be SAQA-accredited.
- Professional registration with ECSA, SACPCMP, or an equivalent recognised body
- Strong technical and leadership capabilities in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Ability to effectively manage multi-stakeholder environments on active construction sites.
- Willingness to be site-based for the duration of the project
