Job Type: 12-Month Renewable Contract
A leading industrial company requires a qualified mechanical technician or fitter to join its maintenance reliability team, supporting condition monitoring (CBM), predictive maintenance, and root cause analysis (RCA) functions on-site. The role includes vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and equipment inspections to ensure continuous plant operations.
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Trade Test: Mechanical Fitter or Engineering Qualification (N/S/T stream or Diploma)
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Category 2 (CAT II) Vibration Analyst certification – essential
- Laser Alignment training or practical knowledge
- Infrared Thermography certification or practical experience
- Oil Analysis understanding (WearCheck or similar)
- Understanding of CBM practices and predictive maintenance
- RCA knowledge or formal training
- Competent in data collection, reporting, and analysis
- Strong fault-finding, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work after-hours, standby duties, and respond to call-outs
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect vibration data and conduct analysis using CSI AMS Suite / Emerson software
- Perform infrared thermography scans and compile reports
- Conduct precision laser alignment on motor/pump/gearbox assemblies
- Perform routine inspections and evaluate equipment conditions
- Identify and report potential failures and recommend corrective actions
- Support failure investigations and root cause analysis
- Maintain detailed records of all condition monitoring activities
- Collaborate with maintenance teams and engineers on continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in standby rotation (min. 2 weeks per month)
