Compounder: ROLES & RESPONSIBLITY
Compounding / Manufacturing
- Consult the Manufacturing Schedule to ensure the correct bulk is being produced according to the production schedule.
- Ensure that raw materials received are as per the recipe and to the correct quantities. All raw materials must be double checked to ensure that the correct raw materials were dispensed. Check the colour, smell and weight.
- Ensure that all personnel practices are be completed, and verified on the BMR
- Collect all tools required, as per the BMR, before compounding to limit any interruptions during the dispensing process.
- Produce Bulk batch compounding within the standard allocated time.
- Ensure any abnormalities are flagged to the Production Lead to ensure product is filled, packed and stored correctly.
- Ensure that works orders are closed timeously and that all supporting documents and transactions are comprehensive and complete.
Quality - Ensure that the relevant SOP's are adhered to, to ensure that the product quality meets or exceeds the required standards.
- Ensure that all daily calibration, maintenance checks, and cleaning and sanitisation of all equipment are performed prior to any compounding.
- Notify and liaise with relevant departments to resolve quality problems on raw materials or components received.
- Ensure any abnormalities are flagged to the Production Lead and/or Quality Lead to ensure product bulk meets the required standards.
- Perform and record all stipulated in-process checks according to work instructions. (PH, viscosity, odour, specific gravity)
Stock issue for compounding, and Stock control
- Verify the accuracy of all stock issued to works orders by following the relevant SOP's. Action and resolve any discrepancies identified with the relevant party concerned.
- Ensure any left-over materials at the end of production runs are accounted for and dealt with in accordance with the relevant returns SOP's.
- Ensure all variances outside of the limits set are investigated, recorded, and reported to Operations Manager.
- Ensure that any stock inaccuracies identified either by team member or cycle counter is investigated and actioned and per the relevant SOP.
- Ensure that all obsolete or rejected stock is isolated and actioned as per the relevant SOP.
- Ensure that works orders are closed timeously and that all supporting documents and transactions are comprehensive and complete.
Safety, Hygiene and Housekeeping
- Ensure that all unsafe acts or conditions are reported to the Operations Manager to ensure that the workplace remains safe at all times.
- Ensure that all accident and incidents are reported and documented and assist in the investigation in accordance with the relevant SOP's.
- Ensure that master cleaning schedules, sanitation logs and scale validation logs are completed and kept up to date.
- Ensure the relevant SOP's and Work Instructions are adhered to, to ensure that the equipment, environmental hygiene and GMP standards are met.
- Perform cleaning actions according to equipment schedule.
Maintenance, cleaning, and calibration activities
- Ensure equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule.
- Perform basic equipment checks according to maintenance check schedule.
- Breakdown maintenance - Inform when any equipment is not working / not operating as it should.
