Compliance Specialist - Hybrid | Randburg, South Africa
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (initially office-based, then hybrid)
Salary: R700-900k per annum

Our client is looking for a Compliance Specialist who combines legal, regulatory, and technology knowledge to deliver world-class data privacy and information governance solutions. If you are experienced in frameworks like POPIA, GDPR, CCPA, and familiar with Microsoft compliance tools, this is your opportunity to work with clients at the intersection of law, risk, and cloud technology.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement compliance frameworks using Microsoft 365 and other cloud technologies.
- Facilitate risk and compliance workshops with multidisciplinary client teams (e.g. IT, Legal, Risk).
- Translate privacy regulations into actionable strategies and technology-driven solutions.
- Advise on and enforce data retention, classification, and governance policies.
- Work with advisory partners to shape compliance frameworks and taxonomy designs.
- Stay up to date with evolving global data privacy laws and Microsoft innovations.
Your Skills & Experience:
- 3-6 years' experience in Compliance, Data Privacy, Risk, or GRC consulting.
- Working knowledge of key global regulations: POPIA, GDPR, Privacy Shield, CCPA, SOX.
- Familiar with ISO 27001, NIST, and other best practice frameworks.
- Experience in records management, information security, and data classification.
- Exposure to Microsoft compliance tools (e.g. Purview, Compliance Manager) is a strong plus.
- Confident leading client workshops and providing actionable compliance guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB), IT, Commerce or a related field.
- Preferred certifications: CISA, CISSP, IAPP, ISACA, or similar.
