About the position
Description:
Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join their mining company based in Gauteng. You will lead and oversee the compliance function, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, responsible sourcing standards, customer due diligence and anti-money laundering obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and strengthen the compliance governance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, responsible sourcing standards and compliance controls.
- Oversee customer due diligence, onboarding, risk assessments and continuous monitoring.
- Manage high-risk compliance matters and ensure appropriate investigation, escalation and management.
- Investigate and manage sanctions hits, adverse media findings, PEP risks and unusual transactions.
- Manage compliance reporting, committee submissions and risk registers.
- Engage with customers, auditors, regulators and internal business units on compliance matters.
- Provide oversight of customer master data, contract administration, pricing controls and customer account governance.
- Ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective risk management processes, compliance registers, monitoring activities and escalation mechanisms.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Degree in Compliance, Legal Studies, Risk Management, Finance, Business, Internal Audit or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification or professional compliance/risk certification will be advantageous
- Minimum 7 years' experience in compliance, KYC/AML, responsible sourcing and customer due diligence
- Knowledge of FICA, POCA, POPIA, the Precious Metals Act and applicable KYC/AML regulations
- Valid Driver's License
