About the position

Introduction

Internal Advert - Communications Specialist

The position of Communications Specialist is vacant. The Communications Specialist will report directly to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communication and form part of the Member Service and Experience Division. The position is based at the Head Office in Pretoria.

The total remuneration package for this position is R 1 136 890 per annum negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Communications Specialist will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communication through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Develop innovative and comprehensive communication strategies that align with the Scheme's goals and objectives.
  • Defining key target audiences and tailoring communication strategies to reach them effectively.
  • Lead the implementation of the communication strategies/plans and campaigns and ensure implementation across platforms.
  • Develop high quality content, coordinate design and package material (Newsletters, Guides, Online Publications, SMS etc) for distribution on various targeted communications channels, ensuring that information is consistent, clear and effective.
  • Collaborate with various divisions for accuracy of communications to ensure consistent messaging and brand image.
  • Leverage research and insights drawn from surveys etc to understand the communication needs and perceptions of relevant stakeholders and develop educational material and action plans with defined deliverables that yield desired outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholder partners, agencies, vendors and Service Providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of communication activities and campaigns using various metrics and tools and improve where necessary.
  • Coordinate and plan Communication Forum meetings to drive alignment and strategic projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification requirements are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Communication Specialist, Marketing Specialist or a similar role in communications.
  • Strong understanding of corporate communication principles and strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • High level of creativity and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop innovative communication solutions.
  • Excellent writing Skills.
  • Have the proven ability to create content and craft key messages related to employee/human resources matters.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adeptness to work under pressure.
  • Be confident in influencing at all levels of the organisation and be more than approachable with internal personal skills.
  • Be proficient in multiple forms of communication technologies and approaches.
  • Be adaptable, proactive, deadline driven, results-oriented, highly organised, and detail-oriented.
  • Be a self-starter, able to work with general direction and exercise independent judgment.
