You're an ambitious fund accountant with a hunger to grow and take ownership in fund accounting. You thrive on responsibility, are happy to get stuck into admin and ops. You're self-motivated, proactive, and detail-driven, with a desire to be part of a tight-knit, high-performing team.
You'll be the sole Fund Accountant in the Cape Town office, working closely with senior stakeholders to support investor services and take back-office workload off their plate. From daily NAV production, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation to helping streamline processes and reporting. You'll also play a key role in investor communications and reporting.
You'll join a specialist investment firm with a global footprint and a focus on derivatives-based strategies. The Cape Town office has around 10 people, mainly on the investment committee. The environment is lean, entrepreneurial, and collaborative, with a clear commitment to bringing more value in-house rather than relying on outsourced services. You will have the option to work hybrid and willwork closely with the team in Cayman Islands.
A BCom or similar degree and at least 3 years' fund accounting experience is essential. Exposure to commodities or futures is a bonus, but they'll train you on the specifics. Strong Excel skills, a genuine interest in operations and fund accounting, and a hands-on, "get things done" attitude are essential. You also need to be fluent in Afrikaans.
