About the position

A Well - Established Law Firm Seeks a Commercial Associate in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents.
• Providing sound legal advice to clients on corporate and commercial law matters.
• Assisting with and managing corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, and project finance transactions.
• Drafting and reviewing transaction-related documentation, including:
  • Sale of Business Agreements
  • Sale of Shares Agreements
  • Shareholders Agreements
  • Partnership Agreements
  • Memoranda of Incorporation (MOIs)
  • Commercial contracts and related transaction documents
  
  


• Conducting legal research and delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice.


• Building and maintaining strong and effective client relationships.


• Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including the Companies Act and related regulatory frameworks.


• Managing matters independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Minimum Requirements

• LLB Degree.
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 3–5 years’ post-admission experience in Corporate and Commercial Law.
• Proven experience in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and/or project finance transactions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated experience in client engagement and relationship management.
