We're looking for an energetic and detail-driven GMD Co-Ordinator to play a key role in bringing our General Merchandise strategy to life across stores in the Northern Region.
In this exciting role, you'll be the vital link between the Support Office, Buying Team, and Stores, ensuring seamless execution of product ranges, promotions, and merchandising initiatives. You'll help create a shopping experience that inspires customers, supports teams on the ground, and drives both sales and profitability.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
Bring category plans and promotions to life by coordinating launches, seasonal campaigns, and new product rollouts.
Be the go-to connection between stores, regional operations, and the GMD Buying team.
Ensure planogram compliance and track store execution through regular reporting and feedback.
Support the setup and execution of promotional events and ensure standards are consistently maintained.
Administrative & Reporting Support
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of product listings, supplier details, and price updates.
Compile, analyse and share weekly reports on sales, stock levels, and promotional performance.
Track store queries, resolve product issues, and follow up on delivery discrepancies to keep things running smoothly.
Merchandising & Range Support
Partner with Buyers and Planners to ensure product availability and store allocation is accurate.
Support store teams with planograms, space planning, and display standards to bring merchandising excellence to life.
Gather store feedback to help refine product assortments and identify new opportunities with vendors and the Buying Office.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to ensure flawless execution.
Build strong relationships with store teams and stakeholders to enhance sales and operational readiness.
Coordinate supplier interactions, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 / Matric (required)
Diploma or Degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advantageous)
2-3 years' retail experience, preferably within General Merchandise
Exposure to multi-store operations and category coordination
Solid understanding of retail operations, merchandising principles, and GMD floor planning
Willingness to travel extensively within the region is required
