About the position
Introduction
To provide operational and merchandising support to the Deli category by ensuring effective execution of agreed standards, product ranges, and promotional activities across all stores. The Co-Ordinator will guide and support Deli Managers to maximise sales and promotions, drive production planning and margin analysis; develop and implement action plans to achieve budgeted targets while ensuring consistent sales
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational and Store Support
Coordinate implementation of Deli & Cheese category plans, promotions, and seasonal activities.
Serve as the link between the Support Office and stores, ensuring communication of updates, pricing, and operational requirements.
Monitor store performance, standards, and execution of planograms and layouts.
Follow up on store issues, stock challenges, or delivery concerns.
Reporting & Analysis
Consolidate and analyse sales, margin, waste, and stock performance reports.
Track promotional and seasonal activity performance, highlighting variances.
Provide insights to the Deli & Cheese Specialist to inform business decisions.
Merchandising and Standards
Support the rollout of planograms and visual merchandising guidelines.
Ensure stores adhere to quality, hygiene, and presentation standards in the Deli & Cheese departments.
Assist with the development and distribution of operational manuals, recipes, and display guides.
Gather and communicate feedback from stores to improve product range and merchandising effectiveness.
Administrative Support
Maintain up-to-date product listings, supplier information, and pricing databases.
Assist with promotional planning and monitor execution through reporting.
Compile sales and performance reports for the category team.
Supplier and Category Coordination
Liaise with demand planners to ensure timely product availability and delivery to stores.
Support the category manager with new product introductions and store rollouts.
Track and escalate issues related to stock shortages, quality, or delivery discrepancies.
Support product evaluations, tasting sessions, and category reviews.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Valid Driver's Licence
Grade 12 / Matric
Diploma or Degree in Retail Management, Food Science and Technology, Food Technology or Culinary qualification (advantageous).
Minimum 5-7 years' experience in retail or category co-ordination.
In-depth knowledge of Fresh Foods, Deli, or Cheese in store process and procedures.
Knowledge of food safety standards and merchandising principles.
