About the position
Our client a dynamic and fast-paced retail supplier is seeking a meticulous and proactive CMT Coordinator to join their Durban-based team. This role plays a key part in ensuring their production processes run smoothly by coordinating with CMT (Cut, Make & Trim) units to deliver high-quality products on time and in full.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Coordination:Liaise daily with CMT factories to manage and monitor production timelines, ensuring all manufacturing deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Order Management:Issue and track production orders, ensuring accuracy of order details, fabric allocations, trims, and delivery dates.
- Quality Assurance:Monitor quality standards at all stages of production. Flag and resolve quality concerns proactively with CMTs and internal QC teams.
- Logistics and Deliveries:Coordinate collections/deliveries of garments, fabrics, trims, and finished goods between CMTs and warehouse or head office.
- Supplier and CMT Liaison:Build strong relationships with CMT partners and resolve any day-to-day production issues, capacity challenges, or operational delays.
- Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate records of all CMT-related documentation including job cards, delivery notes, production schedules, and costing sheets.
- Compliance:Ensure all CMTs adhere to ethical and legal compliance, including labor laws and health & safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a CMT coordination or garment production role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes and production timelines.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Computer literate (Excel, Outlook, and Sync.)
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle (advantageous).

Remuneration: R13 000 - R18 000
