About the position
A global technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) company that specializes in managing critical incidents, claims, and service plans for the automotive, fleet management, and insurance, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will ensure the seamless operation, optimization, and support of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Operations: Maintain, optimize, and support Azure and M365 platform services to ensure reliable global operations.
- Escalation Support: Act as an escalation point for incidents raised through the Global Service Desk within an ITIL framework.
- Incident & Problem Management: Participate in major incident response, rapid service restoration, root-cause analysis, and long-term fixes.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Design and implement secure, scalable technical solutions for business and project needs.
- Monitoring & Capacity: Monitor cloud service capacity, performance, and availability for early issue detection.
- Security & Compliance: Identify risks, apply remediations, and ensure security changes are implemented without business disruption.
- Maintenance & Lifecycle: Execute scheduled maintenance, including patching, upgrades, certificate renewals, and resource lifecycle management.
- Standby: Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to provide out-of-hours support for critical services.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional IT experience delivering services across cloud and on-premises environments (ideally within financial services, insurance, or similar sectors).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud and infrastructure engineering (Microsoft Azure and hybrid solutions).
- Enterprise Operations: Proven experience working within large, complex organizations across distributed, multi-disciplinary teams and matrixed structures.
- ITIL Framework: Comfortable operating within ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem, change, request fulfillment, and service transition).
- FinOps: Strong understanding of cloud cost-management principles (optimization, forecasting, and responsible consumption).
- Soft Skills: Self-driven and effective when working remotely under minimal supervision; excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Technical Skills
- M365 & Identity: Solid background in Exchange Online (mail flow, hygiene, transport rules) and Entra ID with Conditional Access (MFA, PIM, SSO).
- Governance & Compliance: Experience with Power Platform governance (environments, DLP, connector controls) and Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, Insider Risk, eDiscovery).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Demonstrated expertise using Terraform, Bicep, and Azure ARM templates for repeatable deployments.
- Automation: Strong proficiency in PowerShell and Azure Automation Runbooks (drafting, testing, and troubleshooting across Hybrid Worker environments).
- Azure Governance: Deep understanding of RBAC, PIM, policy enforcement, naming standards, and subscription structuring.
- Observability & SRE: Skilled in Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Managed Grafana. Strong focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles (high availability, load balancing, resilience engineering).
- Security Hardening: Solid knowledge of CIS baselines, identity controls, certificate lifecycle management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Lifecycle Management: Skilled in patch and update management leveraging Azure Update Manager.
- Networking (Advantageous): Good understanding of cloud networking (VNets, NSGs, firewalls, private endpoints, routing).
