About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud infrastructure within an enterprise data environment. This opportunity is ideal for a senior cloud professional with strong Azure and Databricks expertise who enjoys building cloud-native platforms that enable advanced analytics and data product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise data platforms.
- Build and maintain Azure landing zones, networking, identity, and core cloud services.
- Implement and optimise Azure Databricks environments for data engineering workloads.
- Support cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineers to ensure reliable cloud deployments.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and improve platform availability.
- Contribute to cloud architecture, automation, and operational best practices.
- Produce technical documentation and support operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years' experience in cloud infrastructure or cloud engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services.
- Proven experience administering Azure Databricks environments.
- Experience with cloud networking, security, storage, and identity management.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation tools.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Advantageous
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Knowledge of enterprise data platforms and analytics environments.
- Experience within large-scale enterprise or consulting environments.
