About the position
Role Purpose
The Cloud Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the company's cloud architecture and strategy. This role ensures cloud solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective while supporting digital transformation and business objectives. Working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, engineering teams, and technology partners, the Cloud Architect provides technical leadership across cloud adoption, application modernisation, and enterprise architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Define cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, and cloud adoption roadmaps.
- Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Lead cloud migration and modernisation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and enterprise architecture.
- Implement cloud security, identity management, compliance, and risk controls.
- Drive DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud cost optimisation (FinOps).
- Ensure cloud platforms meet performance, availability, resilience, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Provide architectural guidance, mentor technical teams, and engage with stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF, or CKA are advantageous.
Experience
- 8–12 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in Cloud Architecture.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions, migrations, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries is advantageous.
