About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (ICU) to join a high-performing Critical Care team in Johannesburg. This role is suited to a confident nursing professional with strong leadership capabilities, extensive ICU experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients within the ICU
- Lead and coordinate nursing activities during allocated shifts
- Support and mentor nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence
- Ensure adherence to critical care protocols, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Assist with staff development, training, and continuous quality improvement activities
Requirements:
- Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery
- Post Basic qualification in Critical Care Nursing
- Registered with SANC
- Minimum 5 years' ICU experience
- Proven shift-leading experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
