COMMUNITY SERVICES AND HEALTH - CITY HEALTH
CLINICAL MEDICAL OFFICER
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R1,370,030 PER ANNUM - REF NO: HS 27/26 - AREA CENTRAL AND VARIOUS FUTURE POSITIONS
Requirements:
- MBChB degree
- Two (2) to three (3) years' relevant experience in primary healthcare including infectious diseases and child health
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Solid knowledge of all aspects of comprehensive primary healthcare and the district health system will be an advantage
- A valid BLS/ACLS and PALS will be an advantage
- Previous experience in TB, HIV and ARVs will be an advantage.
Key performance areas:
- Consult and provide preventative, curative and rehabilitative treatment/healthcare services across clinical specialities to patients in the primary healthcare programme to enable early detection, control and recovery from illnesses and diseases and/or prevention/notification of occupational health hazards
- Guide, mentor and capacitate nursing staff to support patients prior to, during and post treatment with relevant methods that include application of specific healthcare techniques and approaches.
- Provide a quality primary healthcare service that includes ensuring that a quality service is rendered to clients; adherence to occupational safety policies and procedures; timeous reporting of any potential threat
- Participate in the delivery of educational programmes aimed at promoting awareness, advantages and approaches to adopting safe and healthy lifestyles that will benefit and contribute to personal well-being and social upliftment in communities
- Participate in operational and clinical research to improve quality healthcare service delivery as approved and directed by the Department
- Participate in regional clinical workgroups and projects as delegated by the Director
- Keep accurate recording and confidential records of all consultations and procedures performed including completion and adherence to specific administrative sequences associated with the updating of clinical records and registers.
