About the position

Join a well-established cross-border logistics company based at Groblersbrug, specialising in the seamless movement of goods across the South Africa–Botswana border. This role suits a detail-oriented individual with customs experience, responsible for accurately framing Bills of Entry and ensuring compliant import/export documentation.
REQUIREMENTS

• South African citizen or valid SA work permit.
• Code B driver’s license and own transport.
• Willing to work overtime and be available after business hours.
• Compulsory shift work.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Introduction to customs clearing
• National Certificate in Customs control will be advantageous
• National Certificate in Custom tariff codes will be advantageous.
• 2 - 3 Years previous experience in customs clearing.
• Experience in ga-track and easy clear will be advantageous.

CAPABILITIES & COMPETENCIES

• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Understanding of Customs Control and Duty Act.
• Clear understanding of Clearing and Expediting procedures.
• Knowledge of SARS rules and regulations.
• Fluent in English.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Processing of all export entries on a daily basis.
• Researching product and client descriptions on Google, comparing them with available literature, and accurately classifying goods using the appropriate customs tariff codes.
• Ensuring correct documents are received from clients to ensure compliance with customs.
• Capturing/framing of both import and export entries (custom documents).
• Completing and submitting VOCs (customs adjustments) for both imports and exports.
• Completing and submitting SADC certificates.
• Submitting electronic data integration entries.
• Administrating clients barcoded manifest/s on a daily basis.
• Timeously attending to client queries on both email and group WhatsApp platform.
• Assisting clients with import and export queries.

The proposed salary for the role is R5k - R8k per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
