About the position
The Role: Personal Lines Claims Handler
The Claims Handler will be responsible for accurately and efficiently administering claims while ensuring high levels of client service and relationship management. The role requires strong product knowledge, a high level of compliance awareness, and a proactive approach to communication with clients, brokers, and underwriters.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and process claims accurately and in line with policy terms and service level agreements
- Proactively communicate with clients, brokers, and stakeholders to provide updates and maintain relationships
- Ensure compliance with FAIS, FSCA regulations, POPIA, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles
- Capture, verify, and maintain all documentation and records with attention to detail
- Identify and report suspected fraud, misrepresentation, or dishonesty
- Generate reports and maintain quality assurance processes
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure efficient claims resolution
- Maintain knowledge of insurance products, providers, and competitor offerings
About You
- 3+ years of experience in short-term insurance claims handling
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, classes of insurance, and industry practices
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- High attention to detail with strong administration and record-keeping ability
- Ability to analyse, make sound decisions, and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong compliance awareness with FAIS accreditation and CPD hours up to date
- Professional, organized, and client-focused with a growth mindset
