About the position
Job Purpose:
To ensure efficient and accurate processing, administration, and follow-up of short-term insurance claims across multiple product lines including, but not limited to, pet insurance, cash-in-transit, rim and tyre, and other niche insurance products. The role involves communication with clients, service providers, and internal teams to ensure fair and prompt settlement of claims in accordance with policy terms and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register and validate new claims across various product lines.
- Accurately assess and process claims within agreed turnaround times and according to policy terms and conditions.
- Liaise with service providers, assessors, underwriters, and clients to obtain required documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, regulatory requirements, and FAIS/FICA standards.
- Update and maintain claim records on the system.
- Monitor the progress of claims and provide regular feedback to clients.
- Flag suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims for further investigation.
- Manage recoveries and third-party claims where applicable.
- Assist in compiling claim-related reports and analysis for management.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication with all stakeholders.
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure best practices are followed.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) - Essential
- Relevant short-term insurance qualification (NQF 4) - Advantageous
- Regulatory Exam RE5 - Advantageous
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of short-term claims experience across multiple products.
- Experience in pet insurance, cash-in-transit, or rim & tyre claims - Highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with claims systems and workflow tools.
