Position: Civil QC Engineer – EPC Industry

As part of a major project execution in Durban, they are looking to engage a highly skilled Civil QC Engineer to support and oversee quality control activities on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement project-specific quality control plans and ensure civil construction activities comply with contract specifications, standards, and procedures
- Conduct inspections, sampling, and testing of civil works including earthworks, concrete, rebar, and structural installations
- Review and verify materials, workmanship, and documentation against project drawings, technical specifications, and international standards
- Maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, and test results in accordance with the QA/QC system
- Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation
- Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance and timely resolution of quality issues
- Support audits, quality reviews, and handover documentation preparation for civil works
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years' experience in civil QC within the EPC, infrastructure, or heavy construction industry
- Certified in quality control/assurance (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ, or equivalent) is an advantage
- Proficient in reading technical drawings, specifications, and QA/QC documentation
- Solid knowledge of international standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, EN, etc.) related to civil works
- Previous experience with large-scale infrastructure or marine projects is desirable
- Strong reporting, communication, and coordination skills
