About the position
A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist / Civil Engineer to strengthen its design office in Cape Town. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects across the municipal and built environment sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions, contributing across design, documentation, contract administration, and construction monitoring while engaging closely with clients and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design of civil services for municipal, commercial and industrial developments, including preparation of relevant documentation, and contract administration/monitoring
- Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of roads, stormwater services, sewer services, water services, ducting services and bulk earthworks
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
- Conducting site inspections and leading site meetings
- Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
- Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
- Interaction with Clients
Requirements
- Eng or B. Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist (or eligible to register within the next 12 months)
- Minimum 5-10 years with specific Municipal Infrastructure Design and Building Environment experience a pre-requisite
- Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Competent with Civil Designer and AutoCAD
- Good communication and people skills
