Civil Engineer/Civil Engineering Technologist

About the position

Exciting opportunity to join our Client in the engineering industry for a Civil Engineer / Civil Engineering Technologist based in Cape Town.

They are looking for a talented candidate to complement their team, in the form of a Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Technologist.

The purpose of this job is to produce technical deliverables and to assist the well-established team of Engineers and Technologists in the design, procurement, contract administration and construction monitoring of large scale multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will form part of an existing design office and will report to the Directors.

Responsibilities

• Design of municipal services, including the preparation of the relevant documentation
• Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of bulk earthworks platforms, roads, stormwater-, sewer-, water services
• Prepare bills of quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
• Construction monitoring during implementation stage of projects
• Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
• Interaction with Municipalities, Project Team and Clients

Requirements:

• B Eng or B Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
• Eligible for professional registration with ECSA in the next 2 to 5 years will be to the candidate's advantage
• Minimum 5 years with specific civil services design experience (Including design experience in bulk earthworks, sewer networks, stormwater networks and water networks)
• Experience in Stormwater Management Plans will be beneficial
• Competent with Civil Designer and AutoCAD
• Good communication and people skills
