BN000055 - Chief Investment Officer
Purpose of the Job:
The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) will lead investment strategy, portfolio performance, and capital-raising efforts, working closely with the CEO, board, and senior leadership to ensure financial growth and sustainability.
Required Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent; MBA is advantageous
- 10+ years of experience in CFO/CIO roles.
- Strong finance, accounting, and investment expertise.
- Proven success in capital raising and investor relations.
- Experience in Southern & Eastern Africa, preferably within the Agricultural sector
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead capital-raising efforts, engage with investors, and oversee financial due diligence and deal closures.
- Develop and execute financial strategies, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with business objectives.
- Identify, assess, and analyse potential investment opportunities to support business expansion and growth.
- Drive pricing strategies, manage cash flows, and oversee cost structures to maximize returns.
- Ensure financial governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management across all investments.
- Strategically allocate financial resources to optimize business performance and investment growth.
- Track financial performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to improve operational efficiency.
- Present financial data, investment analysis, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board.
- Sound financial modelling ability for assessing project viability.
