We are searching for an astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function of a well-established manufacturing organisation that prides itself on quality, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The Opportunity
As CFO, you will form part of the Executive Leadership Team, taking full responsibility for shaping and implementing the financial strategy, ensuring sound financial governance, and driving profitability. You will play a critical role in business planning, performance management, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organisation’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership to the finance team, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis, ensuring operational and financial efficiency.
- Oversee costing models, bill of materials, and product costing to optimise profitability.
- Manage working capital, liquidity, and cash flow to support business sustainability.
- Lead risk management, internal controls, and compliance with financial regulations (IFRS, PFMA, PPPFA, CIPC, Tax).
- Support executive management with financial insights, investment decisions, and capital planning.
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems and processes for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and other functional leaders, influencing long-term business growth.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or CFO role within manufacturing.
- Proven experience in financial strategy, operational finance, and commercial decision-making.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, product costing, and inventory control.
- Advanced knowledge of financial systems (e.g., SYSPRO, SAP, or Oracle).
- Strong stakeholder management and board reporting experience.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of integrity, sound judgment, and resilience under pressure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (essential).
- CA(SA) (essential).
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Financial Management or Strategy (advantageous).
