About the Opportunity
Join a well-established South African organisation within the security sector, delivering response and alarm monitoring services to a diverse client base. The business is looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to become part of the executive team and lead financial strategy, governance, and sustainable expansion.
Role Overview
The CFO will take full ownership of the organisation’s financial direction and management. This includes overseeing financial reporting, cash flow, payroll, compliance, budgeting, risk management, and contract performance. The role is integral to improving operational efficiency and positioning the business for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage cash flow, debtor processes, and payroll functions
- Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements (including PSIRA, SARS, UIF, SDL, VAT)
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts and board reporting packs
- Support tender processes and assess contract profitability
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Oversee strategic financial planning initiatives
- Play a key role in mergers and acquisitions activity
- Implement and maintain robust financial risk management practices
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance
- Enhance financial processes and operational efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
- CA(SA) qualification, with candidates typically aged 40+
- Minimum of 8 years’ financial management experience, with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level
- Background in security, facilities management, or other labour-intensive industries
- Strong understanding of South African tax, payroll, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management and debtor control
