About the position

Are you a sharp, strategic, and solutions-driven financial leader with strong ties to South Africa’s banking and investment world? Are you comfortable navigating complex deal structures and moving Significant funds with purpose? Then this could be the most meaningful role of your career.

We’re working with a remarkable, forward-thinking organization based in Mossel Bay—a powerhouse in the funding space that’s enabling economic growth across the country. With over 11,000 successful projects under their belt, this team is rewriting the playbook on funding, trade finance, and procurement solutions. And now, they’re looking for a Chief Financial Officer to help shape the next bold chapter.

This is not a “tick-the-box” CFO gig. It’s big money, big responsibility, and big vision. You’ll be part of the Executive Leadership Team—driving strategy, building financial resilience, and enhancing operational scalability. No ivory towers here, they need someone agile, grounded, and commercially switched on.

What You’ll Own:

Investor & Capital Management

  • Cultivate relationships with current funders and private capital partners

  • Bring in new funding sources—from institutions to private equity

  • Oversee capital structuring for LCs, SBLCs, and tender-based finance

  • Ensure due diligence, audits, and transparent investor reporting are on point

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Shape and implement forward-thinking financial strategies

  • Advise on pricing models, deal structures, and national scaling

  • Own critical financial KPIs (cost of capital, margin, turnaround time, etc.)

  • Be the strategic thought partner to the CEO

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Lead enterprise-wide risk frameworks, focusing on supplier and funding risk

  • Ensure compliance with SARB, SARS, FICA, and the Companies Act

  • Maintain a gold standard for ethical, accountable funding practices

Operational Excellence

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and profitability tracking

  • Drive working capital efficiency and funding cycle management

  • Implement scalable, automated systems (Google Workspace, [URL Removed] etc.)

Team Leadership

  • Lead a strong finance team (accounting, treasury, compliance, planning)

  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Operations Coordinator

  • Build a values-driven, high-performance culture

What You Bring:

  • A relevant financial qualification or (CA(SA) is great, but experience reigns supreme!

  • At least 8 years in senior financial leadership, ideally in trade finance or funding

  • Deep understanding of capital raising, risk management, and investor relations

  • Gravitas to lead—but humility to collaborate and roll up sleeves when needed

  • Sharp commercial instincts, strategic mind, and emotional intelligence to match
