About the position
Description/Synopsis:
Join a leading group in mining and civil engineering as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), responsible for shaping financial strategy, upholding robust governance and risk controls, and driving commercial growth. This hands-on, senior role covers group consolidations, global tax compliance, and working capital management, requiring a technically strong individual, with high-level leadership capabilities. International exposure in financial operations, a passion for efficient processes, and proactive business partnership are key.
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom/CIMA/SAIPA/CA(SA) qualification
- At least 7 years’ experience in a finance management
- Strong team management, leadship and coaching experience
- Strong expertise in international tax strategy, group consolidation, and complex financial reporting
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and practical experience in statutory, tax, and payroll management
- Experience with Xero and major ERP/accounting platforms
- Prior exposure to the mining or civil engineering sectors is highly advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of Double Taxation Agreements and African tax regulations
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee global tax, statutory and financial reporting across multiple countries.
- Ensure full compliance with international regulations and manage cross?border financial risk.
- Maintain transparent company structures and guide all statutory submissions.
- Lead consolidation and analysis of group financials across local and international entities.
- Deliver accurate management reports, forecasts and financial insights to support strategic decisions.
- Drive financial planning, budgeting and performance reviews.
- Strategic & Commercial Leadership - Align financial strategy with business objectives and operational plans.
- Support pricing, contract evaluation, investment decisions and profitability analysis.
- Partner with executives to shape commercial strategy and long?term growth.
- Risk, Asset & Working Capital Management
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks across the group.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, regulatory and investment requirements.
- Lead, mentor and develop high?performing finance teams across regions.
