About the position

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a leading educational institution. As a key strategic partner to the Head of School and the Management Committee, the CFO will play a central role in driving the school’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Location: Cape Town
Languages: French-speaking candidates will have a distinct advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial management: budgeting, reporting, audits, internal controls, and supplier contracts.

  • Oversee support functions including HR, admissions, communications, IT, facilities, and health & safety.

  • Monitor investment projects and coordinate cross-functional administrative teams.

  • Act as a strategic advisor and reporting partner to the Head of School and Management Committee.

  • Ensure full compliance with legal and policy frameworks (finance, HR, data protection, etc.).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Management, or Business (MBA preferred).

  • 5–10 years of proven experience in financial and administrative leadership, ideally within an educational setting.

  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

  • Skilled in budgeting, HR, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication.

  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to manage diverse teams.
