JOB PURPOSE
The Chief Financial Officer oeports directly to the CEO.
The purpose of the CFO role is to strategically position the Company for long-term growth and to deliver value to the shareholder.
The CFO will be responsible for the conceptualization, development and implementation of the financial strategy, governance framework and financial management system.
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the Management of the following departments with a staff compliment of +- 17 employees:
Finance

  • Financial reporting: ensuring the delivery of valid, accurate and complete financial accounting records,
  • Financial operations: management of the financial administration department (i.e. banking facilities, payments, submission of returns etc)
  • Governance & controls: developing and ensuring compliance to policies, processes and regulations
    Information Technology
  • Management of all internal and external IT requirements as a support service
    Procurement
  • Management and leadership of procurement team
  • Lead procurement plan of each project
  • Ensure company overhead procurement activities balance risk, cost and efficiency
    Stores
  • Leads stores and enhances ERP system utilization to ensure accurate and optimal ERP usage to enforce the integrity of stock data
  • Oversee and guide initiatives to drive clean stock keeping practices and governance

Serve on, and support the Executive Committee of the business through:- Board level financial reporting- Development, preparation and utilization of ERP reports to direct operational meetings in terms of focus and purpose- Strategic engagement Key Performance Areas/Accountabilities/High level functions
Cash flow management
Complies with group requirements in terms of- Cash flow management and reporting of cash flow position as well as requirements on project and overhead expenses
Financial Reporting- Oversee month end accounting process- Perform more complex Balance sheet recons such as WIP & revenue recognition- Ensure full monthly financial compliance (e.g. SARS).
Financial operations- Assuming responsibility for the CAPEX processes and procedures.- Support the business operationally, by provision of focussed reports, providing information driving relevant financial decision making- Engaging in costing and price setting of tenders/quotations/new orders or order variations
Governance and Controls- File and maintain records of all source documents according to financial and audit requirements.- Accountable for the financial year-end audit. Liaising with auditors to ensure annual audits are effectively performed. Attend to audit requests.- Develop, maintain and ensure compliance to group, entity and regulatory regulations, processes and policies-
Qualification and Experience- BCom Financial Accounting / CIMA / CA(SA)- Minimum of 5 - 7 years' experience in manufacturing or construction environment- Extensive and detailed knowledge of best practice accounting systems, policies and procedures,- Knowledge and extensive experience with IT systems such as MS, Excel and ERP systems
(Preference to Syspro)- Management of procurement and warehousing (stores & inventory)
