About the position
We're looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team - a visionary leader who will drive our financial strategy, oversee capital-raise initiatives, and play a central role in investment decision-making.
Roles and responsibilities:
Strategic leadership
- Develop and execute the group financial strategy aligned with the companies' overall growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team, but specifically the CEO and business unit MD's, to drive business performance and profitability.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making including those relevant to potential investment opportunities, acquisitions, or partnerships.
- Be an active and contributing member of the Board, ARC, Credit and Investment Committees.
Financial management
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure efficient allocation of available funds.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, in line with established KPI's.
- Support the company's liquidity and funding strategies.
Risk management and compliance
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements, particularly those specific to the investment and loan industry.
- Lead audits and liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee lender / investor reporting compliance to current investors already invested.
Capital raise and corporate finance
- Support capital raise initiatives, which may include equity, debt, and other funding structures.
- In alignment with the CEO and business unit MD's, evaluate and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Guide and support the credit and investment committees on its investment deliberations, mandate and decisions.
- Recommend and restructure business models when necessary and beneficial to the business and stakeholders.
Team leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance organisational effectiveness.
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years in a financial leadership role, within the investment, loan or similar financial services industry.
- Proven track record in capital management, strategic financial planning, and risk mitigation.
- Exceptional financial acumen with expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of investment loan products, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both a tactical and strategic level.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
