About the position

iThemba LABS seeks to appoint a Chemical Technologists to partake in the radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes in the Nuclear Medicine Department. The Chemical Technologist will perform quality related tasks, chemical separation, dispensing and packing of the radiopharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, compound, and dispense radiopharmaceutical products according to specified procedures.
  • Preparation for chemical separations and chemical recovery of radionuclides.
  • Preparation of packing containers and packing of radiopharmaceuticals for dispatch according to IATA requirements.
  • Perform quality control tests.
  • Perform quality assurance tasks.
  • Comply with cGMP requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and investigate possible solutions.
  • Partake in bi-annual maintenance duties.
  • Monitor and control adequate stock levels of chemicals and consumables for production

Key Requirements:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years' experience preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience in the manufacturing and quality control of pharmaceuticals

  • Experience in writing and implementing procedures

Knowledge:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Deadline-driven and ability to work under pressure
  • Integrity and reliability
  • Cooperative in a team environment
  • Computer literacy
