About the position

Postion Summary:
iThemba LABS seeks to appoint Chemical Technologists to partake in the radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes in the Nuclear Medicine Department

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, compound, and dispense radiopharmaceutical products according to specified procedures
  • Preparation for chemical separations and chemical recovery of radionuclides
  • Preparation of packing containers and packing of radiopharmaceuticals for dispatch according to IATA requirements
  • Perform quality control tests
  • Perform quality assurance tasks
  • Comply with cGMP requirements
  • Identify potential risks and investigate possible solutions
  • Partake in bi-annual maintenance duties
  • Monitor and control adequate stock levels of chemicals and consumables for production

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:
  • 2-2 years
  • Bachelor·s degree in Science (Chemistry)

Experience:
  • 2 years experience preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in the manufacturing and quality control of pharmaceuticalsExperience in writing and implementing procedures

Knowledge:
  • Good written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical thinking and problem-solving abilityAccuracy and attention to detailDeadline-driven and ability to work under pressureIntegrity and reliabilityCooperative in a team environment
