About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join their team in Durban. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong professional with a solid background in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector, particularly with practical experience working with feedstocks and process-related engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide chemical and process engineering expertise across relevant projects and operations
• Work with and evaluate various feedstocks and their impact on process performance
• Support process optimisation, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving
• Contribute to engineering design, technical assessments, and project execution
• Analyse process data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, operational personnel, and project stakeholders
• Ensure engineering work is completed in accordance with applicable technical, safety, and industry requirements
• Provide technical input throughout project development and implementation

Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Relevant experience within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry
• Proven practical experience working with feedstocks is essential
• Experience in process engineering, operations, design, or project environments will be advantageous
• Strong technical and analytical problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Suitable for an experienced professional
