Chief Financial Officer - Pretoria
Looking for a professional CFO to join our team. Partner with Divisional CEO and board to develop strategic direction. Ensure regulatory compliance, support growth, and enhance shareholder value.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CA(SA) or SAIPA registered
10 years’ experience in finance
Minimum 5 years in executive leadership (CFO/FD level)
Experience in:
- Group/multi-entity structures
- JSE-listed or large private companies
Exposure to African or international markets (advantageous)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Strategic Financial Leadership
Partner with the CEO and Board to define and execute corporate strategy
Provide financial insights to support decision-making and long-term growth
Drive business expansion, restructuring, and investment strategies
2.Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting
Monthly – Management Pack
Annually – Audited Annual Financial Statements
Present financial performance to the Board and shareholders
3.Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with:
South African Revenue Service (SARS)
Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)
Adherence to sound corporate governance
Oversee internal controls, audit processes, and risk frameworks
4.Treasury & Capital Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital across the group
- Optimize capital structure (debt/equity mix)
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions
- Lead capital raising, refinancing, and funding initiatives
5.Tax & Risk Management
Oversee tax planning and compliance
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
Ensure compliance with South African legislation (Companies Act, Tax Acts)
6.Mergers, Acquisitions & Investments
Lead M&A strategy, due diligence, and transaction execution
Evaluate capital investments and strategic partnerships
Drive post-merger integration and value realization
7.Transformation, ESG & Sustainability
Support Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) objectives
Lead ESG reporting and sustainability initiatives
Ensure alignment with transformation and corporate responsibility goals
8.Leadership & People Management
Lead and develop the group finance function across multiple entities
Build strong governance and financial discipline
Drive talent development and succession planning
