CFO/Finance Director at Letsema Consulting

About the position

We are looking for a CFO/Finance Director on a short-term contract basis i.e., 6 to 12 months contract. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring the company's financial health, and supporting strategic decision-making to drive growth and profitability. This role will play a crucial part in guiding the company's financial strategy, managing financial risks, and optimizing financial performance.

Analysis: This involves establishing financial planning processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and long-term modeling to support strategic decision-making. It focuses on analyzing financial performance to identify improvement areas and understand revenue trends, cost structures, and profitability.

Financial Reporting and Compliance: This section emphasizes the importance of preparing accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulations. It involves coordinating audits, addressing findings, and maintaining internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Risk Management and Internal Controls: It details the development and maintenance of internal controls to mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks. The goal is to protect the company's financial interests through risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and monitoring of key risk indicators.

Strategic Financial Leadership: This area focuses on partnering with executive management to guide the company's strategic direction, including business growth and expansion. It involves providing financial insights for decision-making, evaluating mergers and acquisitions, and identifying investment opportunities.

Treasury and Cash Management: This involves managing the company's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to align with operational needs and strategic objectives. Strategies to optimize working capital, capital structure, and investment returns are developed, along with managing banking relationships and negotiating terms.

Team Leadership and Development: The document underscores the importance of leading and developing the finance team to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. It includes providing mentorship, promoting professional development, and ensuring the team's alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements:

? Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CA preferred.
? Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
? In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with a strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS.
? Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
? Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
? Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions to drive business growth.

Scope of Duties and Functions:
The CFO/Finance Director will oversee all financial functions of the company, including financial planning and analysis, financial reporting and compliance, treasury and cash management, risk management, strategic financial leadership, and team leadership and development. This role will require strong leadership, analytical skills, and strategic thinking to drive the company's financial strategy forward and support its growth objectives. The CFO/Finance Director will work closely with executive management and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company's overall strategy and objectives.
