What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)

As the CEO, you will be at the helm of the organisation, responsible for its overall direction and achieving maximum returns on invested capital. You will develop and drive the implementation of strategic plans, ensuring the vision and mission are articulated at every level. Overseeing all operational and business activities, you will ensure desired results align with the organisation's strategy. You'll manage financial affairs, optimise investment initiatives, and drive innovation based on customer insights. Your role includes ensuring compliance with legislation, celebrating successes, and maintaining governance. You will build and nurture relationships with key partners, providing feedback to the Board of Trustees and engaging with major stakeholders to foster a culture of transparency and collaboration.
You'll have 2 direct reports of which have 7 reporting to them.

You'll be based at the office in Claremont but there will be travel to three different area's in South Africa to the communities that your organisation assists. The culture of the company is down to earth and relaxed and the employees are passionate about what they do and love that their roles play a part in helping less fortunate communities.

What you'll need

This is an Employment Equity position. Ideally we'd like someone with a Master's Degree in Management Sciences or a related field but we'll also consider an Honours degree. We're looking for someone with 5 to 10 years of executive leadership experience which ideally some of that in a non profit organisation. We're looking for someone with significant experience in finance, trust leadership and the ideal is someone with experience in grant making and social accountability governance. You possess strong financial management skills, including budget preparation and adherence, and are adept at handling complex financial reports and mitigating risks. Your leadership style is inclusive and motivational, fostering high-performing teams and ensuring succession planning. You are skilled in conflict management, business acumen, and providing expert advice on strategic initiatives. We want someone with a passion for giving back and making a difference.
