You're an experienced multi-site food retail or hospitality operator who thinks like an owner. Commercially sharp yet customer obsessed, you know that GP margins matter just as much as service, food quality and how a café looks and feels. Firm but fair, you're comfortable making tough calls, developing people and leading visibly from the front. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Taking operational ownership of seven cafés, you'll lead the operations team and managers while driving profitability, customer experience, compliance and consistent standards. You'll interrogate P&L performance, COGS, labour, waste and gross margins, while staying close to FOH and BOH operations. You'll enjoy this because there's genuine autonomy to shape the business. Where you'll be doing it This established artisanal café business operates across the Western Cape, particularly the Northern Suburbs/Winelands, with seven community-focused locations and 76 employees. It combines the backing of experienced investors with the agility of a smaller operation, creating real scope for an entrepreneurial leader to make an impact. Around 10+ years' relevant food retail, café, restaurant / hospitality experience, including proven multi-site leadership, is key. Strong commercial judgement, people leadership and Excel skills are important, alongside confidence managing compliance, suppliers, budgets and customer experience. Formal qualifications are advantageous, not essential.
A basic salary, performance-linked bonus, cellphone allowance, kilometre reimbursement and laptop. You'll also gain significant autonomy and the opportunity to make an impact.
