About the position
The Cash Controller will be responsible for monitoring and managing the company's daily cash position, ensuring accurate cash flow reporting, effective cash management, and timely processing of payments and receipts. The role will work closely with the Finance and Treasury teams to maintain adequate liquidity, minimise financial risk, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Monitor daily cash balances and the company's overall cash position.
- Prepare daily and weekly cash flow reports and forecasts.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing cash transactions.
- Process and verify payments in accordance with company policies and approval procedures.
- Monitor receipts, deposits, and cash collections.
- Ensure payments are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions.
- Assist with daily cash allocation and bank account management.
- Liaise with banks regarding payments, transfers, account queries, and other banking matters.
- Monitor cash requirements and ensure sufficient funds are available for operational commitments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and management reports.
- Identify and report cash management risks, irregularities, or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and banking information.
- Provide support to the Finance and Treasury teams as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years' experience in cash management, treasury, banking, accounts, or a related finance role.
- Experience with bank reconciliations and payment processing.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
