Cash Book Clerk

About the position

Our client, a well-known company in the Retail and FMCG sector, is searching for a Cashbook Clerk who can work with high volumes to join their dynamic Finance team.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years solid cashbook experience
• FMCG Experience
• Bcom Accounting degree
• Numeracy and sound technical skills
• Fast learner with the ability to adapt to changes
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Detail orientated
• Excellent communication skills

Duties:

• Full responsibility for a cashbook function, including bank reconciliations, following up and clearing of reconciling items, daily cash management, foreign payments and other ad hoc payments.

• Cashbook processing, management and reconciliations, such as cashbook recons and other cash management recons

• Matching and allocating accounts receivables and accounts payables receipts and payments
• Resolving cashbook queries timeously
• Processing outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Reconciling the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
